NEW! The Art Models 3 Companion Disk is now available.

The Art Models 3 CD has over 60 poses -- the product page shows a full list including a preview image for every pose.

The poses for Art Models 3 were chosen by readers and website visitors. The response was so great we could not include everyone's choices this time, but they will be at the top of the list for the next Art Models. To everyone who chose poses, Thank You!

If you are wondering about the Art Models 3 book, it will be going to the printer this month and will be available this summer in late July or early August.

In Production (not yet in a book)
We recently had a 3 day photo shoot with Jesse and Shandra together (and separately). Here are thumbnail views of the couples poses.
24
For the shoot, we flew in The Artist's Magazine's Butch Krieger from Washington State to our studio in New Hampshire to help direct.

Based on your suggestions and requests, we tried a few new things during the long weekend of shooting including:
25
  • repeating the same pose both clothed and unclothed
  • A completely different, dramatic style of lighting for some of the poses
  • Ground level views looking up.
  • And last but certainly not least: Couples!
26
Of course all of them were shot in full Live Model Books' 24-Point Rotation.

Tell us what you think of the dramatic lighting, floor level view, couples poses and/or tell us which poses are your favorites so we know which ones to edit first.

More About "Art Models"

What sets Art Models apart from the competition?

Our Large Rotating Platform allows us to photograph poses where the models can stretch naturally over a large area, poses that others simply have not done. See Niecy and Michael above for examples. Don't cramp your art with cramped poses.

Photos from Overhead looking down are especially useful for people working in 3-dimensions. For 2D artists, they provide greater choice and a challenging perspective change from the ordinary.

We strive for a Variety of ages, body types, fitness level, and ethnicity. Plus, we are open to requests and suggestions. If you are looking for some type in particular- send us a request by email and we will look for a suitable model. Who else would do that for you?

Large Photos! Our work has raised the standard for art reference and we are proud that others are beginning to emulate and learn from us. Our competition finally responding (by making their own photos at least slightly larger) is a step in the right direction that benefits all artists. Even so, Art Models is still the Art World leader and we haven't seen anyone who can touch the size of the photos we take with our 10 and 12 Megapixel cameras. Bigger photos means more detail which means more value for your money. With 10 and 13 MP source photos, you can study the fine details of hands, feet, faces or any other part of the body with every one of our photos. No need to buy, for example, a separate study for each part of the body--instead simply zoom in to Live Model Books' photos.

Freedom and Choice. We don't force you to install software or use the viewer that we have chosen. Our photos are provided in the most widely used and compatible format-JPGs, just like the photos you would take with your own camera. That means you decide how to view and use the photos, not some company that thinks it knows better than you. So, if you like the freedom to create in your own way and style, then you will really appreciate Live Model Books photos.
