PMA & INGRAM ANNOUNCE NEW MICRO PUBLISHER PROGRAM FOR PMA MEMBERS
Full
Details Here
If you have been having
difficulty in obtaining Ingram as a wholesaler of record, PMA and Ingram have agreed to a new program for
publishers of less than 10 titles.
We are pleased to announce a new program designed specifically for the micro publisher to be able
to work with and be listed in the Ingram database as part of the PMA/Micro Publisher Acceptance Program.
Similar in concept to PMA's successful 15-year-old Trade Distribution program, the PMA/ Micro
Publisher program will convene a committee of representatives from PMA, Ingram, and the bookstore trade, to look
at titles submitted by individual PMA member publishers who do not have any type of relationship with a
distributor and are seeking wholesale distribution. If chosen by this committee, the publisher will be presented
with a contract from Ingram for a minimum of 2 years. National Accounts have agreed to support titles accepted
through this program. |

We have been working with Ingram on developing a program that would benefit the micro start up
publisher entering the trade, to have their titles made available through Ingram's distribution channels. We
have finally agreed upon a program that will work for Ingram and benefit our publishers. The first meeting of
this committee will occur in April 2006, with books being available on the Ingram database by July 2006.
Recognizing the difficulty that many start-up publishers have in allowing the trade to be aware that these
titles are available, PMA in working with Ingram, developed a program that may meet the needs and open the doors
for possible success for the emerging micro publisher.
Information on how to apply and what to send for this program will follow shortly.
